Claiming to be “The World’s Greatest Rapper”, she lives up to those words exactly by delivering an energy through melodies that are out of this world.
Early Life
Princess Emeriss Boose was born on March 19, 1998 and grew up on the south side of Chicago, Illinois. She attended Gwendolyn Brooks College Prepatory until junior year, later relocating and finishing her senior year at South Atlanta High. Boose grew up the only child on her mothers side, with 3 brothers on her fathers side.
Boose had a strong passion for music well by the age of 4. Her father, a singer and songwriter himself.
Career
The young lyrical genius began to develop herself as an artist during her 8th grade year of elementary school at Wendell Smith. Her passion for reading was evident at an early age, Boose sometimes reading 2-3 books in one day. She took on poetry and instantly began to turn it into music, writing and composing well over 200 songs by the age of 20.
Her brother was killed at the age of 8, which pushed her to launch her first Youtube single, “Sadie”, in 2012 inspired by her idol Tupac Shakur. The inspirational and uplifting track targeted the younger generation with a message to put the guns down in honor of her brother. Boose then continued to release songs under the SoundCloud name Emperious G.
In 2015, Boose received a phone call from a comedian in Atlanta, asking her to fly down to perform at The Uptown Comedy Corner. After a successful show, and with much belief that she had what it took to be a star, her parents decided to moved her to Atlanta to further pursue her career.
In September 2018, Boose released a six-song EP Raise No Child. “Hatred” being one of the most popular songs on the EP, grew Boose’s following and fan base when she posted a video of her performing it live on Instagram.
Besides her music, she is illustrious for her crown, the one she literally wears on her head.
Following in her father’s footsteps who also has a crown, in 2017 she decided to get a crown tattooed in the middle of her forehead. Boose stated that she is a Queen and the crown symbolizes not only royalty, but empowerment and respect for all higher powers and Gods.
Musical Style
Boose stated that her biggest influences are her dad Kyle Dungey (also known as K.O.L.), Tupac, Twista, Eminem, Dj Quik, Michael Jackson, and Billie Holiday.
Emperious is claiming to be "The World's Greatest Rapper" and she has the receipts to back it up. 23 year old rap phenom from Chicago, IL is currently taking the music industry by storm and being compared to some of Hip Hop's Greatest Legends. Known for her ability to rap at fast speeds with a multitude of flows, she is often compared to Twista and Busta Rhymes.
After getting on Tik Tok for the first time in a whole year, in less than 48 hours Chicago’s rising star had gained over 10,000 new followers and 300,000+ views causing a viral uproar. Fans' demand drove her to release The Heartbreak Record of 2021 with her viral single “5 Years”. Starting out as a cry for love which led Emperious to take her tears to social media starting the #5YearsChallenge. She states, “5 Years takes you on a journey to show how love can lead you into a dead end if you let it. Based on a true story, it sheds light on mental awareness giving an inside look of real events that took place between two high-school sweethearts and what could possibly happen when you just can’t get over an ex”.
“It is evident that she is one of the fastest growing influencers on social media,”
21 Savage, Lil Mama, and French Montana all gave Emperious the stamp of approval after just her first day of signing up for the infamous app Clubhouse in 2021!
Joining the room and introducing herself as “The World’s Greatest”, she gained over 300 followers and had made a statement in just a matter of minutes after flowing a series of hits.
Now this story is one like no other because despite being in the limelight, Emperious still hasn’t gotten the recognition she truly deserves up until now.
Following her daily rap posts on Tik Tok, her freestyles have now begun to excite fans all around the world driving her followers up by the thousands within just a matter of hours. Tupac, being one of her biggest inspirations, has played a major part in her life since a child being that the first song she ever dropped was a remix to Tupac’s Dear Mama (2012) and now it’s pushing over into her early adulthood.
Announcing the dropping of a soon to be released Tupac EP in an earlier interview, snippets of the project are now appearing all over her Tik Tok sending the community through the roof.
Her flows are simply phenomenal.
She grabs the attention of her audience by creating music that is filled with rage, sadness, and any and every emotion one could think of. Whether she is crying and getting ready to pour her heart out through raw and raging bars or laughing and getting ready to verbally mutilate an unknown source, she delivers, and she does it with an energy out of this world. Known to capture the attention of many wherever she goes not only because of her beauty, but simply the aura that floats around her and resonates with those near, she is known as being a true Queen. One who states that she not only wears her crown spiritually, but physically. Inspired by her father, King Of Love known as (K.O.L) who is also a singer and songwriter featured on her latest EP - Raise No Child (2018) as well as seen on Tik Tok in a late viral snippet, they both have a crown tattooed on their third eye. Music made in the era of Greats such as Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Lil Kim, and just female rap artists as a whole who really touched base on a positive note hits different than music being made today. Emperious brings substance, her ability to portray and manipulate multiple personalities across a matter of a few of seconds, write through different point of views, switch gender roles, and simply create timeless music is what sets her aside from today’s artist.
Emperious is a Queen who believes that everyone deserves to live in their true identity and if there is talent that one possesses then it should be utilized and put out to be discovered so that we all can have a fair chance at living “Not the American Dream”, but “Our Dreams”.
